Your head is bigger than your legs!

Here in Cincel we have Spanish chapel once a week. Everything is conducted in the missionaries new language! It's hard, really hard for the newbies. Like what's going on? What did he say? My brain hurts!

If a service is translated for you, your brain locks into the English translation and slows down the Spanish learning. It's critical to be fully immersed in the classroom and the chapel.

One of the really special things in Cincel is that there are wonderful speakers in the house. Imagine all the missionaries and the staff who are communicators. We are blessed! Any given day! Alba takes care of the cleaning of the campus buildings. But man can she speak!

Alba was a track and field hero! Her mother couldn't understand her choice to do so. Alba is a tiny thing. She is shorter than me! She has the strength though of a bull! Although now in her forties she still runs and can lift a piece of furniture like no one's business. She and I have done a lot of man work on this campus! I tell her she's the boss!

When she found out in her youth that maybe there was a chance for her to be a part of the national Costa Rican team her coach said, "There are no great obstacles only small minds." He also told her, "Her mind is bigger than her legs." All that to say. Girl you can do it if YOU want to. And that she did. During her speech in chapel she showed many medals and said these are the only ones she keeps at work. She has many more in her house.

She spoke of running the race, no matter what comes your way. She spoke of the prize. She  encouraged all of us to not quit. Don't quit learning Spanish. Don't give up when the hard stuff comes.
