Then in Friday's convocation chapel she was awarded her Honors Stole and cords. What an achievement!

from the other side of the ocean brings us some joy!
This is Renée's graduation week. On Thursday she received the highest award from the English Department, "The Silver Quill" and also recognized for Who's who in America. How proud we are of her. She has worked diligently these past four years. She will graduate at the age of 19. She is a leader in the school. Responsible for the same dorm floor all four years. Has worked in her church as a children's pastor, worked at another church daycare in the baby room and for the last year has worked at Starbucks. With all of that, still is graduating with honors from the honors program. WoW!

the blessing of mission teams!
One year ago a team came to put in windows in the main building. Yesterday from the same church as a year ago came a team to paint the inside of the main building. We say repeatedly we cannot maintain the campus without the churches sending teams. We are ever so grateful for peoples sacrifice and for the churches sacrifice to send people and finances for the project. Teamwork is an amazing thing in the community of believers. Co-laborers together requires prayer, finances, going, sending, loving, reaching past oneself and sacrifice. We are indebted! Thanking God for those at Cincel who prepped the building for the paint team's arrival. Together we work!
another amazing happening!
Who could imagine in a country with hundreds of taxis that we could fall into one that had significance? We needed to get downtown. Waited 20 minutes for a bus. No bus. A taxi stopped to drop someone off right near the bus stop so we asked if he was free to take us. We jumped in. Denny talked about the beautiful day. The driver Yes. Thank God. Denny said Thank God for work, huh? The driver responded. What a blessing. I'm so blessed. This was a couple of days after the devestating earthquake in Ecuador. The driver said. I just told my wife this morning that Costa Rica is under the mercy of God. So we could tell he was a believer by the spirit in which he truly gave God thanks. Then it went to small talk and all of a sudden the attack/crime that we experienced 14 months ago came up. The driver said I recognize you. I treated your wife! I'm sitting there stunned. Leandro is the Red Cross ambulance driver for our town. We were blown away. He talked about the chaos and craziness of that night. Still remembers our house location. Well needless to say. It was amazing. He told us we are overcomers! I like the sound of that! For us to meet someone that was at our house that horrific night and remember it just floored us. God is forever using "happenings" to show his care. That particular ride into San Jose was quite long. I'm so happy it was. I didn't want to leave. I wanted Leandro to keep blessing God.
See ya later alligator!
Man this was a killer. Everyday for 8 month these little girls would come through the office door and say in loud voice. HI DENNY! Give their hugs and go on to the kinder.
Now they are gone. Wow. How hard is that. Love our little and BIG missionary kids.

Caricatured!
Spending a Saturday after a long trimester was so wonderful! We did no work, we simply strolled around downtown and fell into an art festival! We have never sat to have a caricature done so HEY! why not!!
So much fun! The artist was so adorable. When I was sitting there for 15 minutes he would look at me and just have the biggest grin! I didn't know why. I think he is just a happy person! It was fun! While he was drawing, someone from the festival came and took pictures of him drawing us. So maybe in some piece of advertisement we will be famous!

Grammar Book One!
In the light of few students this past trimester Denny made a proposal to our supervisors about having the teachers develop our own material. We have used an established grammar book from the states and to save expenses we could have our own custom book. Never did we ever dream that the accomplishment of Book One would be finished and actually have a copy to dedicate to the Lord at graduation time! We made it! The academic dean is going through the process of copy writes and ISBN number this week. It is very exciting. Book Two will be started now in the May trimester. The dedication of the book was just awesome and we give God all the praise for it and the excellence of the teaching staff in developing it. When we presented the flowers the teaching staff was so surprised. It was a priceless moment!
Graduation April 2016
We have been at Cincel now three years. We start our 4th year on May 5. So hard to believe. Three wondeful, faith filled years. Trials and Joys. Difficulties and Triumphs. Hurts and Pain. All the things that make up LIFE! We have rejoiced in God our Saviour through it all. We have learned to be content in much and in little. We are walking a faith journey in our personal lives as well as the life of Cincel. For the first time in probably its history Cincel had only 4 graduates. It was small but it was mighty. The speaker for Graduation was the Costa Rica Bible College Director. She is also a pastor at one of the larger churches here in town. She is also a woman! It was really nice to have that flavor since 3 of the 4 graduates are women. I really enjoyed that aspect for this graduation. As of today all 4 graduates have left us and are en route to their new country! El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Ecuador. We give God praise for their time at Cincel and the ways in which He will use them in Spanish!
The evening of the graduation we reserve a very special place to celebrate and honor the graduates. This time was the 17th floor of the Holiday Inn Downtown San Jose. The view of the city is spectacular.
