It seems like the Missionary students just arrive and we are preparing for their graduation. Some students are here 4 months, 8 months or one year. It depends on how long they will serve in their country of service.
As we wind down to the end of the trimester chapels become celebrations of what they have accomplished. This past Wednesday each of the students shared in their own words what they wanted to share. Whether it be scripture and its meaning for them personally or a note of thanks to whomever or sharing a highlight from the trimester. It was beautiful. When you recognize the fact that when some arrive they can't speak one word in Spanish, others maybe only basic vocabulary, some pretty developed. However they arrive linguistically, they leave us fully functioning. It is quite amazing.
We shared laughs, tears, nervousness, joy and excitement. It was a great hour. Dina, Denny's admin assistant sang Psalm 23 and all I can say is Wow. It was spontaneous, heart moving and just beautiful.
Psalm 23 is my favorite in Spanish anyway. Jehova es mi pastor, nada me faltará. I lack nothing.
