Each trimester brings us new friends. When the missionary family arrives in Cincel, they live in a small community of apartments on campus. When a family is here for one year, they see a lot of missionary associates come through. The missionary associate stays at Cincel for four or eight months, depending on how long their term is in their appointed country. In the time that the families are here at Cincel we host a lot of missionary kid events and missionary wife events. Since our trimester is almost over we had our last "chica time" on Friday. Generally we do something off campus. However this time one of the ladies had a great idea. It was really fun. We set up tables in a breezeway (perfect for drying paint!) Had snacks. Mia decorated the area with boas and played beautiful music and we painted. We all brought a small canvas to paint and then we exchanged names and gave our canvas away. For me it will be a prayer tool. Denny hung the one I received in the kitchen so everytime I see it I will think of Mia and pray for her ministry in El Salvador.
I'm not an artist. As a matter of fact if someone mentions painting or drawing my heart rate goes up. Thankfully Mia is an artist so she got me through my anxiety! Denny mixed the color of my base coat and painted my canvas the night before so I had a head start. She said the music would be relaxing. I kept hoping!
