I love sports and I love going to sports games, whether it be a little league, high school, college or pro game. I just love it. Generally this kind of activity isn't something we consistently can do, too much work! too many responsibilities! not enough time in a week.
But when the opportunity presents itself, I'm in! The students asked us if we would like to join them in going to the National Stadium and when I heard the game was Costa Rica playing Jamaica. OH YEH!
We took a bus downtown San Jose. Found a bite to eat, then walked our way to the stadium. The night was clear, beautiful, and exhilarating. I guess that can happen when you get beyond the 4 walls of the house!
Sadly Jamaica lost, I may have been the only one in the stadium rooting in my heart for them! I do believe all 35,000 seats were full. It was crazy loud. fanatics, I think. It was nuts! The World Cup doesn't happen for a couple of years but these games are critical for placement in the World Cup. We were here in Costa Rica for the last World Cup and it's serious! Classes are cancelled when Costa Rica plays! haha! the world goes in front of the teli. Even at the mall there is a big screen and everybody going fanatical!
