Last Sunday night we hosted a service at Cincel with the missionaries that minister in Costa Rica, The Cincel students, a missions team from Evangel, Kansas City, MO and the Engage Students that are living and learning Spanish at Cincel.
It was awesome! The speaker for the evening service was Doug Peterson. He and his wife, Myrna, were in Costa Rica for a Latin America Childcare anniversary. The most amazing thing was we hadn't seen them in 27 years. When we were in language school the first time around, Doug and Myrna were the Area Directors for this region. They are incredible people and have served the Lord all these many years. We always thought they were beautiful people and last Sunday night confirmed that fact. A preacher par excellance....he spoke about the Lord's table. He preached in a way that affected me greatly. I don't think I can ever forget it. He is simply an amazing speaker. They also remembered us. Now that is something. When we were students we were some of many and yet they remembered us. We were just kids, trying to find our way around Costa Rica, working real hard to learn the language and love people. We are so grateful for people like the Petersons and Dahlagers that invested so much of their time and energy into people like us. After he spoke, he served us communion. A very special moment....
The team from Kansas City held a service for the youth and an MA couple held a service for the children in the library.
