A week before the wedding, the Quackenbushes invited us to dinner. It was the first time that Denny and I had met Lauren's older sister. Elise teaches English in Korea, Aubrey, her younger sister is a college student. What a delightful evening! We enjoyed it thoroughly. It really was the beginning of a week of celebratory occasions! I wish we could do every one of them again! After the delicious meal was finished, Ryan and Lauren presented the dads with a gift box and the moms with a precious gift bag. We were told to open them together! We did! such fun!
The dads received an engraved watch, and the moms a bracelet with so much meaning! I cried. The bracelets have pearls for each child. That means that we both have one more pearl on our bracelet and the leaves have the kids initials. So I have 2 R's and an L. Shelly's leaves now make a word! "REAL"
Ryan, Elise, Aubrey, and Lauren! I am so excited to wear it! We all felt the same joy, surprise, and delight. Ryan and Lauren are so thoughtful.
